NorDocs Technologies awarded $149,000 from Ontario Centres of Excellence

Ottawa, Ontario, October 26, 2012 NorDocs Technologies has received $149,000 through Ontario Centres of Excellence’s (OCE) Market Readiness program to take its product development to the next stage.

“We would not be where we are today without the support and guidance of OCE,” said Stanley Shapiro, MD, CEO NorDocs Technologies. “This award is just another indication of the important relationship we have developed with OCE’s Ottawa office over the last two years. The Market Readiness funds will help NorDocs move closer to entering the medical devices market. This makes all the difference in the world.”

The $149,000 award will go toward the overall project cost, estimated at $330,000. The project is the continuation of a previously approved initiative that was done in conjunction with the University of Ottawa. Funding for the project will go toward intellectual property, integration and verification of the product components, fabrication and certification of the product.

“NorDocs is an Ottawa and OCE success story having already created more than 15 high quality engineering and research jobs since 2011,” said John Fielding, OCE’s Regional Director, Eastern and Northern Ontario. “We have supported this company through various stages of its development and look forward to their future innovations.”
